AMC’s latest teaser Interview with a vampire It greets viewers in the city’s vibrant French Quarter at night before taking a darker turn as we take a fresh look at the vampire Lestat. It’s the latest look at the highly anticipated series based on the story of Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles books. An earlier teaser gave viewers a look at the stately home supposedly inhabited by the vampire Lewis and Lestat — there are coffins standing side by side in a fire-lit room — and revealed that the series is expected to begin this fall.
AMC’s Interview with a vampire It stars Sam Reed as Lestat de Lioncourt and Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac and from everything we’ve seen so far, it looks like it’s set in the early 1900s. AMC’s adaptation of Anne Rice’s beloved 1976 novel of the same name has taken a long way to the small screen. The book was previously adapted into a movie starring Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise in 1994, but Rice did not regain the rights to the novel until 2016. There have been numerous attempts over the years to adapt it Vampire Chronicles series, but only AMC that has progressed beyond the early stages of development. The network has officially moved forward with an interview with the vampire in 2021.

While fans have noted the series’ seemingly early 20th century setting as a bit of a departure from the book, the series’ executive producer Mark Johnson previously said they went to great lengths to uphold Rice’s storytelling legacy while ensuring that the characters were engaging. For a more modern audience.
“Developing this series carries great pressure and responsibility,” Johnson said. “What Anne Rice has created and what amazes her fans with compels us to take this transformation from book to television with a great deal of responsibility. It is imperative that we do not disappoint her fans however we need to make sure that these conservatives, these characters sing for a modern audience.”
He added, “We hope that this series will force fans of Anne Rice to rediscover her work. We also hope that those viewers who have never read Anne Rice’s novel will go to the library, eager to understand what all the fuss is about.”
Interview with a vampire It’s not the only Rice novel that has been adapted by AMC, either. The network is also adapting the Rice network Life of a Wizard in Mayfair He also wrote and recently cast Alexandra Daddario as the lead in the series. Sadly, Rice passed away in December of last year before either series could air.
In addition to Reed and Anderson, Interview with a vampire Stars Billy Bass as a vampire baby Claudia and Succession Stars Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy, the investigative journalist who conducted the titular interview.
